Save the Date for Empower 2012
January 25-27, 2012 – Anaheim Marriott

The Laserfiche community joined forces at the Hilton LAX January 10-12 to make Empower 2011 the largest Laserfiche Institute Conference ever, bringing together over 1,400 users, resellers, Laserfiche staff, prospective customers, analysts and reporters for a 20% increase in attendance over 2010.

The theme of “Empowering the Worldwide Laserfiche Community” was palpable from the Day One video presentation, which showed how a single drop of water becomes capable of generating great power when it joins thousands of others, just as the members of the Laserfiche community came together to empower each other with their knowledge, ideas and best practices.

And did they. Empower 2011 offered 125 distinct classes in 16 training rooms over three days with five sessions per day featuring 57 Laserfiche speakers and 40 guest presenters. Users shared their success stories, like Jonathan Stafford from the Long Beach Police Department, who reported how accessing Laserfiche from patrol cars helped officers enforce a city-wide gang injunction initiative—leading to a 53.8% drop in gang-related murders and a 13.5% drop in gang shootings.

For the first time ever, users participated in 12 roundtable discussions with Laserfiche technical and business implementation experts, as well as select customers. Users could also bring questions to the Office Hours Room, where Development, Support, User Education and Presales staff answered questions one-on-one over an expanded four-day schedule.

2011 also brought the most Run Smarter award winners ever—17 in total. This year’s winners were recognized for their innovative uses of Laserfiche, including creating paperless classrooms, developing a shared service center to speed invoice processing, automating contract management and more.

The community had numbers of its own to offer, which Nien-Ling Wacker, CEO and President of Laserfiche, lauded in her keynote speech:

“In 2010, the members of the Laserfiche community showed real ingenuity and creativity in their use of agile ECM,” said Nien-Ling. “We’re delighted by their achievements and honored they made the effort to attend the conference to share the secrets of their success with their peers.”
